Sara Ahmed: The Promise of Happiness (2) // Critical Readings

We continue the reading of Sarah Ahmed's 'The Promise of Happiness' in D-zona. In this meeting we will discuss the second chapter, 'Feminist Killjoys' (pages 50 - 88) and as additional text, the article 'Warning's published in her blog: https://feministkilljoys.com/2018/12/03/warnings/

The book is accesible here

If there is good weather it's possible that we will go to an outside open space to make the meeting to enjoy the summertime. If that is the case we will meet anyway at D-Zona and then move there. If you arrive late in that case and noone is there, write us on the page and we will indicate where we are. "The concept of correctible tastes suggests that happiness is about learning to be affected by objects in the right way. The very possibility that we can affect our affectiosn by action, or through will or reason, becomes the basis of an ethical imperative.
